Really enjoyed listening to this episode. That parenthood and art work balance is a steep learning curve! So important though, creating set is like breathing!

Another great sesh from you both. Love this from Lilla: "people won't take you seriously unless you take yourself seriously" which is related to balancing parenting & art. A few years ago, I decided to start a co-working group to have accountability, camaraderie, and to block "access" to me (because it's "real" if it's on the calendar). Also, I think art/work expectations shift when you're a parent - it took me a while to not be resentful that I didn't have enough time for work, that I couldn't work on long projects without cleaning up in between (because little hands want to get into *everything*). I found a balance, a re-setting of my own expectations, and now that my kiddo is old enough, boundaries are easier to enforce.
